Expert Option review: the company, the licence and the payout

The short answer
Expert Option is an online trading platform that has been running since 2014, and the party you actually contract with is EOLabs LLC, Company No 377 LLC 2020, registered at First Floor, First St. Vincent Bank Ltd., James Street, Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Payments are handled by a separate company, Highmax ltd of Gibraltar. The Retail Client Agreement names no financial licence and no state regulator; it puts every dispute under the law and the courts of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The platform states a $10 minimum deposit, a $1 minimum trade and a payout of up to 95%, and clause 4.3 of the same agreement lets the company set that payout rate itself. Everything below is quoted from the company's own documents, read on 29 August 2026.

Chapter 1The company
What Expert Option is and who you contract with
The brand on the screen and the company on the contract are not the same name.
Expert Option is a short-term trading platform at expertoption.com: the client picks an asset, a direction and an expiry time, and the trade ends either with a fixed payout or with the loss of the stake. The industry files this under fixed-time or binary options. The footer reads «© 2014–2026 ExpertOption»; the platform states more than 100 assets and more than 20 payment systems, and the storefront runs on 17 language subdomains, Hindi and Bengali among them, plus separate hosts at expertoptionasia.com.
The company you sign with is another name. Clause 2.2 of the Retail Client Agreement says that as of 30 June 2020 the site is operated by EOLabs LLC of Kingstown, and that every transaction is processed under the laws of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Money moves through a second company, Highmax ltd of Gibraltar, named as the payment agent. The five checks anyone can repeat are on the real-or-fake page.
The site does not agree with itself about its size. The about page says more than 70 million registered users, promo lines say «50+ Million Users», and Google Play shows 50M+ installs. We record the three figures as published; none is independently verified.

Chapter 2Regulator claims
Three regulator claims and one agreement without a licence
Three different descriptions of oversight in the brand's own materials. The contract names none.
The regulation page and the home page meta
Regulated by The Financial Commission

The page itself calls FinaCom «an independent dispute resolution and self-regulatory organization».
Text left in the site's files
VFSC Regulation · FMRRC Regulation
«Our company is authorised and regulated by VFSC government financial commission»
«Regulated by Financial Market Relations Regulation Center»
Present in the site's text files on 29.08.2026; not shown on any rendered page that day.
The Google Play listing
EOLabs LLC, a licensed financial dealer

«ExpertOption - Mobile Trading», com.expertoption, rated 4.2 from 283K reviews.
Read side by side, the brand's materials describe its oversight in three ways. The regulation page names only The Financial Commission and describes it, in its own words, as a self-regulatory organization. The meta description of the brand's home page goes further: «Regulated by The Financial Commission». The site's own text files still hold lines about the VFSC and the FMRRC, and the Google Play listing calls EOLabs LLC «a licensed financial dealer».
None of it reaches the contract. Formally, no state financial regulator is named in the company's documents. The FinaCom membership is real and checkable: its register shows ExpertOption as Active, registered on 07.02.2022, with a compensation fund of €20,000 per complaint. That makes it a private dispute body, not a supervisor. Each claim is taken apart on the regulator page.
Chapter 3St Vincent LLC
What a St Vincent LLC registration actually is
«Company No 377 LLC 2020» is an entry in the register of Limited Liability Companies kept by the Financial Services Authority of St Vincent and the Grenadines. It is a company number, not a licence. The authority's own pages say that LLCs are registered within 24 hours; its fee schedule lists «Registration of a new LLC $125.00» and an «Annual Fee $100.00». When the company is formed, the applicant only states the kind of business it plans to carry on.
That has a direct consequence for anyone checking the brand. A valid company number shows that EOLabs LLC exists and where it is registered. It does not show that anyone supervises how it runs trades, holds client money or sets payouts. The same distinction decides how the brand looks from India; it is worked through on the India status page.

Chapter 4Account rules
The account rules that decide what happens to your money
Seven rights the company keeps for itself, in the order a client meets them.
- One account per personcl. 4.2If several accounts turn up, the company may end the agreement, block every account and «retain all profits earned».
- Orders can be refusedcl. 4.3Any instruction may be declined «without giving any explanations of the reasons».
- Deposit held for 180 dayscl. 4.3If KYC documents are not provided, the initial deposit may be held for 180 days.
- $50 a month on a dormant accountcl. 1.1, 4.3An account with no transaction for three months counts as dormant and is charged a fixed 50 USD a month.
- Closed at zero after 12 monthscl. 4.3After 12 months of inactivity with a zero balance, the account may be closed and the agreement ended without notice.
- $10 to closecl. 4.4Closing the account on request carries a USD 10.00 charge.
- Claims capped at depositscl. 3.1A dispute «shall not exceed the total amount of Client's deposits»: lost profit cannot be claimed.
Retail Client Agreementcl. 4.3
The Company reserves the right:
— to deduct up to 20% commission from the withdrawal amount in order to eliminate the possibility of online fraud and to cover transaction costs;
— to automatically deduct a fixed dormant account fee in the amount of 50USD/month;
— to set limits on the amounts that Client can withdraw on a daily or other periodic basis;
— to place a hold on Client's initial deposit for a period of 180 days in case Client fails/refuses to provide documents requested for KYC purposes;
— to refuse execution of any instruction/order received from Client without giving any explanations of the reasons.
Chapter 5The arithmetic
The arithmetic behind «up to 95%»
A win pays the payout, a loss costs the whole stake. That sets a line the client must beat just to stand still.
A fixed-time trade has two outcomes. If the call is right, the platform pays the stated payout on the stake: at 95%, a $10 trade returns $9.50 on top of the $10. If the call is wrong, the $10 is gone. Those two numbers fix a break-even line, the share of correct calls needed just to end level: 1 / (1 + payout). At 95% it is 51.3%, at 80% it is 55.6%, at 70% it is 58.8%.
The company sets that payout. Clause 4.3 lets it «change, add or set as default the return rate, profit rate» for one, several or all assets, so «up to 95%» is a ceiling it controls, not a market price. The Exclusive tier is promoted with «Increased profitability», which ties the payout to account size: the smaller the deposit, the higher the share of correct calls required. The full working sits in our risk notice.
| Payout | Right call, $10 stake | Must be right |
|---|---|---|
| 95% | +$9.50 | 51.3% |
| 80% | +$8.00 | 55.6% |
| 70% | +$7.00 | 58.8% |

Break-even = 1 / (1 + payout). Clause 4.3 of the Retail Client Agreement lets the company change the payout rate.

The platform states a $10 minimum deposit and more than 20 payment systems. One delay is written into the Payment Policy: under clause 3.2 a bank transfer deposit can take up to 45 working days. Identity checks take up to 10 working days from the request and can stretch to 30, and the official FAQ adds that verification is only possible after a deposit.
The minimum withdrawal is $10. The FAQ says requests are processed within 2 working days; clause 4.5 of the agreement gives the company 5. Money goes back only to the source it came from, and third-party cards and wallets are not accepted. Clause 4.3 lets the company deduct up to 20% of a withdrawal «to eliminate the possibility of online fraud and to cover transaction costs» and set withdrawal limits. Timings and every charge are on the withdrawal page.

Chapter 7Eligibility
Who cannot open an account
Clause 3.2 asks the client to confirm being 18 or older. Clause 2.3 lists 48 countries and territories whose citizens and residents the company does not serve: the whole European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Russia, Ukraine, Israel and more. Clause 2.4 adds that the company is not supervised by Japan's JFSA and does not address its site to residents of Japan.

is not on the list. That is not approval from any Indian authority: it only means the company has not excluded India itself. What that means for clients in India has its own page.

Clause 4.3 on payout rates and the 20% deduction, the dormant fee, the 180-day KYC hold, and clause 5.3, which sends disputes to St Vincent courts.
This review sticks to the company's documents; the real or fake check repeats them step by step, and who regulates Expert Option takes each of the three claims apart.
